Splinters Youth Centre, is proud to now become an Open access centre for the Forest in giving the young people the opportunity to gain the Dof E Accreditation. This session is for young people aged 14+, (You need to be 14 to start the Bronze section of the award.)

It is a fortnightly session on Wednesday’s 5:00pm till 6:00pm

The Dof E award is recognised widely by employers and has been stated that it is the next thing an employer looks for after Qualifications.

There are 4 main sections to this award which include:

§      Service

§      Skills

§      Physical Recreation

§      Expedition

Each of these sections is aimed at showing potential employers commitment and dedication, as well as challenging the young people on different skills throughout a given period of time.

There are three main stages to this award, which are Gold, Silver and Bronze all with different time lengths and challenges the young people need to complete in order to gain the award.
